DEMISE.
Mr John Godfrey, died at his residence, Caroline-street, on Wednesday at the age of 79 years.  Deceased, who had been ailing for a very long time, was widely known here, having come to Moonta 45 years ago.  He was a native of Yorkshire, and arrived in this State from England in 1852.  He leaves a widow (second wife), four daughters, and two sons.  The funeral on Thursday afternoon brought together a large number of relatives and friends.  The service at the house and graveside was conducted by the Rev W. Shaw, assisted by the Moonta Methodist Choir.
