Thomas Wright (fifth cild of Robert & Charlotte) married Alice Nicolle on 9/5/1899 at the residense of Mr A E Smart at Grace Street Goodwood Park. The witnesses at their wedding were Albert Edward and Marry Ann Smart.
Thomas Wright was a Blacksmith of Kangarilla at the time of his marriage. He was raised by his Uncle and Aunt, David and Maria Tester, after the death of his father in 1880. Thomas learnt his trade as a blacksmith from his uncle, who was also a blacksmith at Kangarilla. He attended the Kangarilla Primary School from 1882-1890 as did his wife, Alice Nicolle from 1884-1889.
Thomas Wright was a labourer and gardener and was trustee of Methodist Church land in March 1908 before they moved to Echunga in 1909. Thomas and Alice stayed there until 1921 when they bought Allotment 43 on Williams Avenue, Newstead on 26/9/1921. Thomas Wright died on 13/8/1933 at Newstead. Alice Wright (nee Nicolle) was born on 18/8/1877, the daughter of William Nicolle, and died on 24/3/1940. Both Thomas and Alice are buried in the Magill General Cemetery.
